Katie is an Accredited Specialist (Family Law) and has practised exclusively in family law for over 13 years. In the Doyle’s Guide she has been rated by her peers as a Rising Star of Australian Family and Divorce Lawyers (2017) and a Recommended Parenting and Children’s Matter Lawyer in New South Wales (2018).
She has extensive experience in all areas of family law including complex financial matters involving family companies and trusts, dissipation of assets and offshore wealth, valuation disputes, jurisdictional disputes, child support and de facto relationships. She has conducted parenting cases involving significant issues including international relocation, drug and alcohol issues and family violence and takes great pride in assisting her clients to navigate through these very challenging problems.
Katie firmly believes that it is essential that a relationship of trust is developed between lawyer and client and prides herself on building these relationships not just with her clients, but with other lawyers, counsel, experts and professionals involved in a family law matter.
She is regarded by her clients as a lawyer who brings great empathy and sensitivity to her work while also providing sensible and realistic advice. She has an open and co-operative manner and is focused on providing a high level of service to her clients.
Katie is committed to helping clients reach amicable, negotiated agreements without the need for litigation. She is highly experienced in mediated matters and negotiation but is also comfortable should a matter require litigation to resolve it.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Social Science. She is a member of the Women’s Lawyers Association of New South Wales, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Law Society of New South Wales.
